My newspaper work required me to take numerous photos of what are called "environmental portraits," which show people in their workplace. At other times, photos of people come about in the course of events, travels, family outings and the like. More recently, I've been working with setup shots, either outside or in the studio. I'm teaching myself how to create the lighting instead of using what is available. Of course, my favorite subject has been the Dyer family. I knew Derek and BreAnne as high school athletes, and have been taking photos of them from engagement through marriage, pregnancy and parenthood. Here's just a few.
